about
us...
So, how did I get started in redesign? Life
has many paths you can choose to follow, and any time, I had
sort of the ‘fork in the road’ decision to make – I always
chose the unsafe path, figuring if things didn’t work out, I
could always go back to the safe choice. And you know what I
learned, life does work out just fine – I have had a chance
to travel a good bit, see the world, learn lots of new
skills and try things out of my comfort zone. So, here’s a
little bit about my background and how I found the field of
interior redesign.
I have an education degree and love
teaching & helping people learn new things.
After
teaching for a bit, I decided to strike out and try a
different path, and I went to work for a software company
hoping to get to run the education department one day.
Life had other plans –
it was a small company and everyone pitched in, and I found
myself one day – calling customers and talking to them about
our new software and customers were agreeing to upgrade over
the phone – and that began my career in software sales. So
for the last ten years I’ve been selling various types of
software solutions to businesses. |

While I have been doing
that, I always had a need to
nurture my creative side – so I’ve done every
type of arts & crafts you can think of, I’ve decorated
homes, I’ve dappled in fashion design and enjoyed
exploring all the different areas of the art world.
With my ‘day job’,
I
traveled a good bit and when you spend lots of time in
hotels and have time in airplanes, you think if I wasn’t
doing this job, and money were no object how would I
spend my time?
After carefully considering all
the different creative areas I have explored,
I kept coming back to designing and decorating – I
really enjoy it – so the next question was now what can
I do to turn that into a business.
And so I researched the
internet, read books & magazines and finally, I found
the area of redesign and it just ‘clicked’ for me.
Here you have the opportunity to work with
clients and the items they have collected over time. You
aren’t trying to get them to buy everything new, but
acknowledging they have items they love, and perhaps
they just need some guidance as to what to do with ‘all
their stuff’, and that’s where interior redesign can
make all the difference.
I became an Interior Redesigner
and whether you are looking for ways to update your
existing home, or looking to sell and move somewhere
new, my wish is to help you make your house a home.
